Hernandez recommends that you check the exact dimensions before purchasing to ensure that it's appropriate for your home. You'll need to ensure that there is enough air circulation on all sides, and that the doors open fully without hitting cabinets or obstructing the hallway.
french door fridge and freezer is a top brand that is known for its high-end refrigerators. Their counter-depth French door models are flush with your counters for a built-in appearance. The fridges are efficient and quiet and include a smart-home feature that lets you control it with your smartphone or tablet. The fridge also has plenty of storage space for your leftovers and groceries. This model has an ice maker that makes fresh, filtered ice on the spot. It's also simple to use. The dispensers for ice and water are within the refrigerator, not on the front. This is to ensure that they won't detract from the elegant exterior. The dispensers can be used with any cold beverage, which includes juice and sports drinks. This refrigerator is constructed of a tough stainless steel that is resistant to scratches. It's fingerprint-resistant, too. If you're worried about smudges consider a cleaning solution that removes fingerprints without harsh chemicals.
The refrigerator offers 20.5 cubic feet of interior space. It includes Bosch's patented FarmFresh System featuring four cutting-edge freshness technologies to keep fruits, vegetables, and leftovers fresh for up to three times longer than normal. The temperature of the freezer is near perfect, and never varying less than a fraction of an inch from the an ideal temperature.
The Bosch refrigerator costs more than the GE Appliances version, but it has more features. It's worth the extra cost. It has a door in door storage area that allows you to store small amounts of food items in a bin that can be placed right inside the refrigerator's door. It also comes with a convertible compartment that has five temperature settings to suit different types of beverages, snacks and meat. The Bosch refrigerator comes with a smart home feature called Home Connect which lets you manage it remotely via your smartphone or tablet.
The only downsides to this fridge are its thin main drawer and difficult-to-use door latch on the right. The fridge is otherwise a great option for kitchenettes and single households which require more storage space than a standard French-door refrigerator. The stainless steel finishes any kitchen beautifully.
LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth refrigerators are slim and offer a lot of space. They're also priced less than conventional-depth French door refrigerators and eliminate the necessity for a separate, smaller under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S), which offers the capacity of a standard refrigerator with an elegant and contemporary design, isn't an exception. It also comes with an internal dispenser that allows for easy access to filtered drinking water.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins are spacious of space and the top shelf can be folded to create a half-depth shelf that can hold taller items. The bottom of the refrigerator has a set of more crisp drawers, and the full width deli drawer is ideal for meat and fresh produce.
The refrigerator has a recessed icemaker on the back wall. This helps save space and allows you to store more ice bags. The refrigerator has a door cooling system that makes use of vents on the door of the fridge and freezer to let cold air into. It eliminates hot spots and ensures an even temperature throughout the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It provides ample space to serve a family, but we found a few annoying flaws. First the freezer drawers don't stay as cold as we would like. The temperature of the middle drawer climbed to 41° during our highest use test, which is enough to freeze ice cream and other frozen food items. The temperature of the rest of the freezer was at around 36 degrees.
Another issue is that refrigerator doors have handles that are sunken on the inside and beneath which makes it difficult for those who are smaller to close them. This may seem minor however we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators because they're simpler to open and close.
This fridge is expensive, but worth it for anyone looking to have an elegant appearance in their kitchen. We recommend this refrigerator for those who want to upgrade their fridge or are building a new home and want a more integrated look in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's newest counter-depth French-door fridge, the RF23M8090SG is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well during our cooling test, but we aren't fans of the plastic handles or the plastic crisper bins.
One thing that distinguishes the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line, which lets you customize your fridge with removable colored panels that can be swapped out when you're tired of the ones you have currently. There are 11 different colors that range from soft pastels to more vibrant hues, and four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be personalized with text or photos making the fridge a personal touch point that will match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
You can even change the color of the refrigerator's LED lighting, which is nice. The interior of the fridge is finished in a way which reduces smudges, and makes cleaning much easier. The only negatives to the RF23M8090SG are its somewhat cramped beverage center as well as a bit of a learning curve when it comes to opening the door-in-door feature which houses a water jug and a dispenser. You have to feel for an opening on the side of the door that is halfway across, and when you've done that you will be able to open a second door within the fridge, which houses the pitcher docking station, the water dispenser and two shelves for drinks.
The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is big enough to store a wide range of frozen foods and comes with an impressive slide-out drawer system that lets you access whichever food you're looking for without opening the entire compartment. There's also a butter bin-style compartment inside the freezer that allows for simple storage of small items, and a drawer with a huge capacity which can store larger frozen items. This drawer is lockable by using a password to ensure that any unwanted guests are kept out. It also comes with a handy LED to help you see what's inside at a glance. The freezer is also able to monitor energy usage and help you reduce your energy consumption with the SmartThings with smart-enabled Energy mode.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators are a great addition to any kitchen. They look neat and work well in all sizes of rooms. Counter-depth refrigerators are a great option for those who want this look, but without the added height. This Frigidaire model, which we've tested extensively and received an above-average rating in our reviews due to its reasonable price and thoughtful features like an adjustable temperature drawer.
However, it also has a few nagging problems. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF can warm up quite a lot in the freezer and get uncomfortably hot in the innermost shelves of the refrigerator. This is evident in our heat maps which show how much the interior temps fluctuate minute by minute. The butter bin in the orange section in the upper right corner is extremely warm during our testing period. That might not seem so bad at first but it's a sign that the fridge is spending a large part of the time at 33 degrees.
It's important to note that this model is not Energy Star certified, which could be important to certain buyers. However, the main issue is that it's not a particularly great fridge, and the lack of top-of-the-line features and durable construction make it difficult to recommend it over better models in this price range.
In many ways, this Frigidaire looks and feels like the stainless steel model of fridge you might see in the local appliance store. It's a good choice, with a brushed finish that looks good and is resistant to smudges, but it does not stand out or differentiate itself from other brands with more features and cost less.
If you're looking for a budget counter-depth French door fridge and don't have the budget to splash out on our top picks, then the FGHC2331PF is worth considering. It has enough storage to meet the needs of many families and does a good job at keeping food fresh. Even if it's not an energy-efficient unit, it's much less expensive than our top-rated models.
